in·ti·ma·cy  in-tuh-muh-see
noun, plural -cies.

  • the state of being intimate.
  • a close, familiar, and usually affectionate or loving personal relationship with another person or group.
  • an amorously familiar act; liberty.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about intimacy, and its role in a relationship. Issues with intimacy can constipate a relationship faster than eating an entire block of sharp cheddar.

No Regrets

We fight over pointless things, argue about almost everything and often misunderstand each other. We say things we don’t really mean in fights. We may hurt each other and make each one cry. I know we have our rough times, and I guess it’s normal, we just have to minimize it. I know I have done things to hurt you, and I’m sorry, I really am, it was never intentional. I am better than this, I’m doing my best and you know that. I have a lifetime to make it up to you, if you could just let me.

Love isn’t really an easy ride, who ever said it is? Love isn’t a snap of a finger where it will appear in your doorstep as you wish it will. It’s all about patience. If you love someone, you’ll be patient. If you love someone, you’ll never get tired of loving. You wouldn’t feel grateful if love’s going to be that easy where it can be handed out in just a silver platter. You work hard for it, you invest a lot for it and eventually will gain something during the process.

I’ll still stick on our promise where we’ll be there for each other to adjust, we’ll be there for each other together. I’ll always hold on as long as you’ll be there on the other end holding on too.

Whatever may happen, I’ll always be thankful because you came into my life. No regrets. Just love.

Voice

One of the most powerful tools you have is your voice.  Our ability to communicate is powerful because it gets the emotions we feel on the inside out.  Getting your emotions out is emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically healthy.  I do not mean if you are angry, start cursing someone out.  No.  We have to learn and practice healthy ways of expressing our feelings.

One way you can do that is by writing, either in a personal journal or a blog.  When we can get our emotions out in their rawest form, they are no longer circulating in our bodies.  Negative emotions, thoughts, and feelings have certain energies and frequencies that affect our bodies down the the blood cell.  Another benefit to writing the emotions down, especially the raw and nasty ones, you avoid hurting anyone else.  You know, as i know, when we react in the moment, we can say things that can be hurtful to others, which only adds to more negative feelings like guilt.

After you get out all the feelings on paper (or blog), you can sort through them in your conscious mind.  If you think about something in your head only, you are stuck in the emotional part of the brain, which is not consciousness.  Did you know that?  In order to be aware and think clearly, we have to be in consciousness.  So, in order to do that you need to have your feelings OUTSIDE of you, tangible, be able to see them. When you are able to process the feelings, you can then make better choices on how to approach a situation.

When you’ve processed your emotions and you still feel the need to address something, then you must take action.  You can not let that brew inside of you.  It is very important to express yourself to others about how they made you feel.  Sounds easy, right? We all know it’s not and we avoid it because of fear.  We fear the other person’s reaction.  That’s why we hold back from doing many things we truly want.  NEWSFLASH!  You cannot control how people will react.  Your feelings are YOUR feelings and you only have control over those.  How other receive that information is not your concern.  Now I’m not saying be nasty in your approach.  If you speak your mind and address what needs to be addressed, the rest is up to them.   If you avoid speaking up because of other’s reactions, you are allowing others to control you.  This will lead to many things: anger, resentment, depression, etc.

Love yourself enough to know that you and your feelings matter.  If someone can’t respect that, then you may want to consider adjusting the time you put into that relationship/friendship.  You do not want to surround yourself with people who will not respect your emotional feedback, and vice versa.

Find your voice. Be empowered!

Child’s Innocence

What do you see when you look at this little girl?  Love? Happiness? Innocence?  These are the things children should be filled with but things happen sometimes and their innocence is stripped from them, leaving them with fear.  What is a little girl to do when those closest to her betray her and violate her innocent and pure love?  She learns that to be loved she must be a certain way.  She learns that love is not unconditional.  She learns that she is not valued for herself but for the things she can do.  She learns that not everyone can be trusted.  She grows into a woman who can’t love in a healthy way.  She becomes a woman who doesn’t know how to receive healthy love.  She becomes a mother who fears she will be a bad mother, too.  She has to work hard every day and learning who she truly is, how truly lovable and valuable she is and how none of the abuse was her fault.  Doesn’t seem fair, does it?  Well it’s not, but she has to deal with the basket of apples she was given.

What will you do to make sure a child’s innocence is not taken away?

Money

Whenever I hear the saying, “Money doesn’t buy happiness” I disagree every time. Maybe a hundred years ago that saying could of been true but in the 21st century money is everything. Now a days nothing is free, you can go outside enjoy some fresh air for free of course, but other than that if you want to do anything else you need money. Along with the saying most people also say that having loved ones in your life is all you need to be happy, I don’t think thats true at all, of course you’re happy with your loved ones but you can’t be truly happy if you’re in debt or working day in day out to make ends meat, the stress of money, bills etc. can effect a person drastically emotionally and physically and can effect the overall mood in the house if both parents are stressed or highly concentrated on their financial postion. So do you still think money doesn’t buy happiness? or do you agree that because of the new age/generation we live in money does buy happiness.

I don't know about you guys, but I'm totally ready for the spring time weather, (minus the downpours lol). I've been spending time searching online and looking at some of the clothes. Let's take a look!

We've been seeing animal print for quite some time now and the trend is continuing into the spring and summer.

Beyonce’s latest campaign for the House of Dereon hit the Internet this morning.

Though most people are commenting on her “pregnancy glow,” we’re overwhelmed by her lion mane-like hair.  The popstar, and new mom, poses in a khaki bustier from the spring collection and an arm full of wooden bangles.  You can’t see much of the outfit, but you can head over to the brand’s website for a full lookbook (or click below to see a video version).

A new trending item that I've noticed on a lot of fashion blogs are sneakers! Wow, does this mean they're in now? Could be...so rest assured ladies, you can give those 5in Prada platforms a break and slip into something more sensible.

As I was posting this, ironically, the song "Colors" by The Cool Kids(LOVE THEM!!) started playing. There is a verse in the song that embodies fashion so well:
